Van Alan is a film director based in Seattle, WA. He has directed numerous music videos for popular 90's bands such as Better Than Ezra and the Presidents of USA, which have garnered millions of online views and been featured on sites such as Rolling Stone, VEVO, and YouTube.

Van's short films have received critical acclaim and have been selected for various prestigious showcases and film festivals. Notably, his work has been featured on the IFC Media Lab, and his films have been screened at festivals around the world. He is also a recipient of the Washington Filmworks Innovation Lab award for his digital series, "Automata."

"Automata" is a groundbreaking sci-fi series that explores the relationship between humanity and technology. The series, available on Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi label, DUST, showcases Van's unique vision and storytelling abilities.
